When visionary architect Laszlo Toth and his wife Erzebet flee post-war Europe in 1947 to restore their heritage and witness the birth of modern America, their lives are forever changed by a mysterious and wealthy client. The script features interesting characters (albeit secondary and purely cosmetic), highlighted by the excellent performance of Brody and Pierce. The problem is here at the end, as the writers decided to insert unknown plot lines that prevent the film from getting a proper ending, leaving a bitter feeling of incompleteness and preventing this monumental project from achieving what it was intended for.
