When Brett Goldstein, Jason Segel, and Bill Lawrence were asked how Harrison Ford was hired to appear on the show, Segel said that Goldstein originally wanted "Harrison Ford guy," and he auditioned for people like Ford. Segel told Goldstein that they should at least take it to Ford first because they thought he would immediately reject it, but at least other people would hear that Harrison Ford had brought the project, which would attract interest from other big-name actors.

Well, I just finished it and it not only met my expectations, it exceeded them
First of all, as soon as I saw Harrison Ford and Jason Segal in the lead roles, I wanted to see it, but after reading the many positive reviews and watching the trailer, my excitement grew even more. I’m not saying it’s the best show of the year, but it’s an original, good comedy that makes you laugh every episode.
